Friendly Valley Chapter 1152 serves as a fundraising arm of the esteemed City of Hope organization, based in Duarte, California. As a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, City of Hope has garnered acclaim for pioneering breakthroughs, leading-edge treatments, and the compassionate care it provides to patients battling cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and other life-threatening illnesses. All net proceeds from our efforts are channeled directly into supporting City of Hope's noble mission.
Since our establishment as a chapter in 1976, we have successfully raised over $2 million through diverse channels such as membership fees, donations, special events, personal and business sponsorships. Our annual calendar is infused with a variety of engaging events, including a festive Winter Holiday Potluck, an End-of-Year Welcome to Summer Potluck, biannual Bingo sessions, participation in the Annual FV's Craft and Swap Meet, and the newly launched FV Annual Arts and Craft Fair.
Our welcoming monthly general meetings, held in the Auditorium on Saturdays from 11:00 to 1:00, offer a platform for socializing and an optional light sandwich lunch at a minimal cost. Following a brief business meeting, attendees can look forward to enlightening speakers, workshops, or musical performances, culminating in entertaining raffles. We extend an open invitation to both members and guests to participate in our gatherings.
Memberships ~ $25 a year per person, or $35 a year for couples, opens the door to Chapter mailings and reminders of meetings and events. The membership year spans from September through August, and we eagerly anticipate your social engagement and potential volunteer contributions.
Join us in our shared commitment to making a difference, and let's work hand in hand in support of City of Hope's life-changing initiatives.
