Friendly Valley Chapter 1152 is a fundraising arm of the City of Hope, headquartered in Duarte, California. City of Hope is a world-renowned organization with a reputation for groundbreaking discoveries, innovative treatments, and compassionate care of patients with cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. All the money that Chapter 1152 collects goes directly to City of Hope, which is a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since its charter in 1976, Chapter 1152 has raised over $2 million through membership fees, donations, and special events.
Over the years, Chapter 1152 has become known in Friendly Valley for its various annual events, which include a Candlelight Dinner, twice annual Bingo, and a swap meet, all open to residents and guests. Regular once-a-month general meetings are held in the Auditorium at lunch time and offer a variety of speakers, raffles, sandwiches at a minimal cost, and time for socializing prior to a brief business meeting.
Membership in Friendly Valley Chapter 1152 costs only $15 a year per person, or $25 a year for couples. Membership ensures you receive all Chapter mailings and are reminded of meetings and events. The membership year runs from September through August.
