For maximum enjoyment from any golf course it is essential that all players know and follow the basic rules of golf play and golf etiquette. The regulations listed below will govern play on the Friendly Valley Country Club courses for ALL players. Please report players not following the rules by notifying security when appropriate. If there is a simple rule infraction kindly notify the offending player. Keep in mind some players are beginners and may not even know they are breaking a rule.
1) Only residents and their guests may use the golf courses.
2) All guests must be accompanied by a resident and must pay the guest fee. BEFORE play the member should sign in themselves and their guest(s). Use the small brown envelope and write the guest name and date. Then enclose the $10 fee per guest and simply put the envelope in the slot on the sign in counter.
3) The rules are ALL players must sign in BEFORE play.
4) ALL players should start on Hole #1. Players who choose to sign in, then start on Hole #3 must wait for any players on Hole #2 and give them the tee box. Players should not start on Hole #8 or any other hole as ALL players must sign in BEFORE play.
5) Motorized golf carts are not allowed on the course.
6) No person is permitted to walk on the golf course unless accompanying players. No pets are allowed on the golf course at any time.
7) The rules of golf promulgated by the U.S.G.A. and as amended by local rules will govern play on the course. 13) When the course has been closed for needed maintenance or weather conditions, play will not be permitted. Signs will be posted at the course entrance.
14) Play only one ball on a hole except as permitted by U.S.G.A. rules. A driving net has been provided for practice shots.
15) Slow players or groups of 4 or 5 (maximum 5 players per group) must wave players waiting behind them through when there is a chance. This is a common courtesy.
16) When play is crowded, players should do all that is possible to speed up their play. This means playing “ready golf” when you get to your ball, make the shot.
17) Talk and scoring should wait until after leaving the green area and going to the next tee box.
18) Persons on the executive golf course must be at least 18 years of age. On the Pitch & Putt course children guests at least 12 years of age shall be allowed to play when accompanied by a resident and providing the guest and member have been signed in and guest fee payed BEFORE play begins.
