My most recent project is a "Dryer Rake." The drum in our clothes dryer is fairly deep so that getting that last sock out of it can be pretty challenging. This Dryer Rake makes it easy to reach in and pull the sock forward. The handle is 24" long. The teeth are 1" long. The head is 3/4x1x3 Douglas fir. The dowels are 1/2" and 1/4" poplar. It's finished with 2 coats of clear gloss Spar Urethane. The twine is a manmade material, so the knot didn't want to hold. I got around that problem by heating the knot with a flame so it sort of melted it together.
